When kids are bored, telling them to go throw a frisbee isn’t going to cut it. Luckily, Miami has plenty of family-friendly activities that kids will love. Here are some unique Family-Friendly Activities in Miami tailored for children:

Miami Children’s Museum

I mean, it even looks a bit like a spaceship, right? Explore the Miami Children’s Museum, a hands-on, interactive museum designed specifically for kids. They can engage in various educational exhibits and creative activities that encourage learning through play. And the exhibits are out of this world! It even makes me feel like a child when I walk through there. Go cruising or enter the castle of dreams, which looks like something out of a glittery unicorn movie. To die!

Miami Zoo

Spend a day at Zoo Miami, one of the largest and oldest zoos in Florida. Kids can see a wide variety of animals from around the world, including some rare and endangered species. My kids were mesmerized by the playful antics of lemurs in the Amazon and Beyond exhibit and the majestic presence of elephants in the Hirst Family Elephant Compound. If your kids dig birds, the Wings of Asia Aviary offers an immersive escapade into the realm of exotic birds, allowing kids to marvel at the kaleidoscope of colors as these feathered creatures flutter overhead. And then get the dish – but don’t become the dish – on wild residents like giraffes, rhinos, and lions.

Venetian Pool

I mean, who wouldn’t want to swim in a pool that’s been around since 1923? If it’s hot out, cool off at the Venetian Pool, a unique swimming pool with waterfalls, caves, and a coral rock quarry setting. It’s a fun and safe place for kids to splash around and enjoy the water – all 820 000 gallons of it. There is an admission fee: $21 dollars for adults and $16 dollars for kids aged 3-12 years old. But we love the fact that George Merrick thought an Italian inspired oasis would be a vibe. Who needs to travel all the way to Europe?

Frost Science Museum

Curious minds can visit the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, featuring interactive exhibits that allow kids to explore various aspects of science, from the universe to the depths of the ocean. Besides the fact that there’s a gigantic golf ball outside the front of the museum, kids will also love the scientific hands-on activities, touching stingrays, and checking out the human brain. If you can get to the rooftop, the Frost Planetarium dazzles with a peek into the galaxies.

Fruit and Spice Park

Visit the Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead, where kids can learn about and taste exotic fruits from around the world. Kids have the opportunity to see, touch, and taste an array of fruits like mangoes, jackfruits, and lychees, immersing themselves in the diverse flavors of the world. Guided tours and educational programs provide insightful knowledge about the cultivation and history of these plants, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of agriculture and biodiversity. With interactive workshops, seasonal festivals, and a tranquil setting that encourages relaxation and connection with nature.

From hands-on learning experiences to outdoor adventures, there’s no shortage of things to do that will keep children engaged and excited. We hope our list of Family-Friendly Activities in Miami excites you to get out and explore!
