What parents say
Oli the magician was amazing! So great with the kids, so funny, and he had all the adults scratching their heads in confusion trying to figure it out.
We had Maggie for face painting she was fantastic—the kids adored her, she worked beautifully and quickly, and was such a cheerful presence at the party.
We had Natalie join our party to make balloon animals for the kids and she was AMAZING. All the kids were mesmerised.
How much does a pony handler cost per hour in Los Angeles?
Typically $250–$350 an hour (GigSalad and Houston Petting Zoo, 2023–26). Those are other companies' published rates: no Los Angeles pony handler has listed a Yombu rate yet, and you always see the exact total before you pay.
How many pony ride teams are available in Los Angeles?
Yombu is onboarding pony ride teams in Los Angeles now. Tell us your date and we'll match you with the right vetted local pro — within 24 hours.
Do pony ride teams near me travel to Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Long Beach?
Yes — Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Long Beach are inside the Los Angeles area Yombu covers. We're onboarding Los Angeles pony ride teams now, and we match you with one whose travel radius reaches your address.
How far in advance should I book a pony handler in Los Angeles?
About a month ahead gives you the best pick of times. Ponies need transport and a handler's schedule to line up, so weekends fill first; if your date is this weekend, it's still worth asking, since some handlers keep flexible slots open. Yombu is still onboarding Los Angeles pony ride teams, so we match these parties by hand and more notice means more choice; last-minute is still worth asking.
What should I expect from pony rides in Los Angeles?
In Los Angeles, pony rides are typically a 60–120 minute booking: a gentle pony led by a handler for every lap. A pony handler leads a gentle, saddled pony in slow loops around your yard while each child takes a turn in the saddle — nobody rides unassisted, the handler holds the lead the entire time. A typical booking runs one to two hours — an hour is enough for every guest at a small-to-medium party to get two or three turns around the circuit with time for photos.
Is there a weight limit for pony rides?
Usually, yes: GigSalad notes most ponies have a maximum rider weight of 75 to 100 pounds. Younger children are generally expected to have an adult walking alongside. Ask your handler for their exact limit before the party so older kids aren't disappointed on the day; everyone can still pet and brush the ponies.
Is a pony ride safe for younger kids?
Yes. The handler leads the pony and stays within arm's reach the whole time, so it works well even for nervous toddlers, and older kids enjoy trotting a little faster once they're comfortable. Handlers typically ask the birthday child's age in advance to match the pony's pace to the crowd.
