Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about booking a kids party entertainer with Yombu — grouped by topic so you can jump straight to what you're after. Still stuck? We're a quick email away.

Booking & availability

How fast can I actually book someone?

Most parents see confirmed availability within about two hours. You tell us about your party, we check real calendars with vetted local entertainers, and we email you options you can book on the spot — no phone tag, no waiting days for a quote. We keep checking with new pros for up to about 2 hours to find you the best matches.

What happens after I send a request?

We notify matching local entertainers and confirm who's genuinely free for your date and time. You'll get an email with confirmed options, prices, and reviews — then you pick your favorite and book in a couple of taps. You're never locked in until you choose.

How does Yombu find and match entertainers for me?

When you send a request, we don't blast it to everyone. We match on what actually matters — your location, your date and time, and the kind of entertainer you want — and reach out to the best-fit local pros in waves so the strongest matches get the first shot. As they confirm they're available, your shortlist fills up. It's the work you'd otherwise do by hand, done in minutes.

How long do I have to choose from my options?

Once we've sent your confirmed options, you have about 48 hours to pick your favorite and book. That's long enough to think it over without the best pros getting snapped up for another party. If your options expire, just send a fresh request and we'll check availability again.

Do you cover my area?

We're live in 12 US cities and growing fast, and most entertainers travel across the whole metro area and nearby suburbs. Don't see your city yet? Tell us about your party anyway — we'll check who can cover you and let you know.

Pricing & payments

How does pricing work? Are there hidden fees?

Each entertainer sets their own transparent price, shown upfront as a clear "from" rate. You see the full price before you book — no surprise booking fees. If your venue is far from the city center a small travel fee may apply, and we'll always confirm that before you pay.

When and how do I pay?

You pay securely online when you book — debit or credit card. There's nothing to pay to send a request or see your options; you only pay once you choose an entertainer.

Trust & safety

Are your entertainers vetted and insured?

Yes. Every entertainer on Yombu is identity-checked and reviewed before they can take bookings, and we only work with pros who carry liability insurance. The reviews you see come from real, completed bookings — never anonymous ratings.

Is my money safe until the party happens?

Yes — this is the heart of how Yombu protects you. When you book, your payment is held safely and only released to the entertainer after your event. If something goes wrong, that protection is what makes it right. You're never paying a stranger and hoping for the best.

Changes & cancellations

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Plans change, especially with kids. Cancel up to 7 days before your event for a full refund, free of charge. Cancel after that and you're refunded 50% of what you paid. You can reschedule or move indoors free of charge up to 48 hours before the start time. See our refund policy for the full details.

What if it rains or my plans change last-minute?

No problem. You can switch to an indoor location or move your date, free of charge, up to 48 hours before the party. For outdoor parties we always recommend having a simple indoor backup just in case the weather turns.

I already booked — how do I reach my entertainer or change something?

The fastest way is to reply directly to your booking confirmation email — it keeps everything about your party in one thread. Need a hand from us? Email hello@yombu.com any time and we'll jump in.
