Balloon Art FAQs

Everything you need to know before you book.

Ask us a question
How much does a balloon artist cost?

Balloon art on Yombu starts at $160 an hour nationwide, and each balloon artist sets a minimum booking. Each city page shows its own live floor, and you always see the exact total before you pay. Outside Yombu, published rates for balloon art typically run $100–$220 an hour for one balloon twister (GigSalad, HireRush and Thumbtack, 2020–26).

How much does a balloon artist cost per child?

Roughly $11–$16 per child: Yombu's lowest listed rate of $160 an hour, divided by 10–15 kids an hour. That's an estimate, not a per-child price — balloon artists charge by the hour, at a typical 10–15 custom creations an hour (GigSalad and Bazinga, 2026). At the $100–$220 an hour other companies publish for one balloon twister, it's about $7–$22 per child (GigSalad, HireRush and Thumbtack, 2020–26).

How many kids can a balloon artist serve in an hour?

For custom creations, about 10 to 15 kids an hour — GigSalad's guide and Bazinga, a New York balloon company, both put it there. Simple pre-set shapes like dogs, flowers and swords go much faster: GigSalad says about 25 an hour, and Bubbles Productions says 45 to 50. For bigger guest lists, add time rather than rushing the designs.

How long should I book a balloon artist for?

Most balloon artist bookings run 60 to 90 minutes. An hour covers a smaller party; for a guest list of around 25, GigSalad's booking data prices a two-hour booking, which keeps the line short even when every child wants something custom.

How far ahead should I book a balloon artist?

Two to four weeks ahead is comfortable for most balloon bookings. Spring and fall Saturdays are the first slots to go.

What ages is balloon art best for?

Balloon art suits ages 2 to 12, from toddlers to tweens. The youngest get simple shapes they can hold, while older kids want the ambitious builds they can show off.

What space is needed for a balloon artist?

Almost none — a balloon artist works from a small standing spot with their supplies, indoors or out. Outdoors, pick a shaded spot off the grass: balloon companies ask for it because direct sun and grass pop latex, and a bit of shade keeps the artist happy too.

What about latex allergies at a balloon party?

Tell the artist about any latex allergy when you book, because most twisting balloons are natural latex. Some balloon companies can bring a latex-free setup — Bazinga in New York lists one — and if yours can't, pairing the party with a latex-free act is the safer call. Pick up popped balloon scraps straight away, too: broken balloons are a choking hazard for young children.

How do I book a balloon artist near me?

Pick your city on this page, compare vetted local balloon artists by their real rates and availability, and book online. Every booking is confirmed before you pay, and your payment is held until after the party.

Is balloon art available in my city yet?

Yes, in 12 cities so far: balloon artists are live on Yombu in New York, Dallas, Boston and 9 more. Elsewhere, tell us your date on the entertainers page and we'll match you with a local balloon artist the moment one is confirmed.

Are Yombu entertainers vetted and insured?

Yes. Every balloon artist on Yombu is background-checked and insured before they can accept a booking, and your payment is held until after the party.

What should I expect from balloon art?

Balloon art is typically a 60–90 minute booking: every guest leaves holding their own creation. A balloon artist works the room like a mini-show: kids crowd in to watch a few quick twists become a sword, a puppy, a crown — or whatever they shout out — and everyone walks away holding their own creation. Most bookings run 60–90 minutes, long enough for a full guest list, with the artist moving fast so nobody waits.
