Parties run Saturdays and Sundays during museum hours only, they are designed for children up to twelve, and the museum asks for at least two weeks' notice. Weekend slots go first come, first served, which in practice means book earlier than that.

Note the name. This is the museum most Vegas parents still call the Natural History Museum, now trading as the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum. Animatronic dinosaurs that move and growl, a marine hall of shark jaws and whale skulls, the Treasures of Egypt gallery, and a Young Scientist Center that is essentially a science camp compressed into one room.

Birthday bookings come with a private room, themed activities and full run of the galleries for your guests. It is the pick for the six-to-ten-year-old who has memorized every dinosaur name and would like to be taken seriously about it.

A supervised indoor playground on the southwest side, aimed squarely at the nought-to-twelve bracket — and with genuine toddler soft zones rather than a token corner roped off from the big kids. Climbing structures, slides and obstacle courses fill the rest of the floor.

Parties are sold as all-inclusive packages: a private decorated room, a dedicated host, and playground access for the whole guest list. This is the right answer when the birthday child is two or three and half the invitations are going to younger siblings — a trampoline park will not take them, and a museum will not tire them out.

Two valley parks, and they really are two addresses rather than one listing duplicated — Dean Martin Drive down near the south end of the Strip, and Prairie Falcon Road out in Summerlin. Between them: freestyle courts, dodgeball, foam pits, a warped wall, a climbing zone and a launch slide.

The case for a trampoline park birthday has not changed. The venue supplies the entire activity, so nobody has to plan games, and the children reach the cake already spent. Parties need a minimum of ten jumpers, and every guest needs a signed waiver — send that link out with the invitations rather than sorting it in the lobby.

The local rival to Sky Zone, with two parks of its own and one thing the competition does not bundle in: laser tag, included in the upper party tiers. Packages run two hours in a private party space with a dedicated host, all-day access passes, grip socks and a shirt for the guest of honor.

There are four party room sizes, so a group of twelve is not rattling around a hall built for forty. The two parks have different attraction line-ups, which is worth ten minutes on their site before you commit — especially if the laser tag is the thing you have already promised.
